When was the last you replaced your pillows?

While you try to remember the last when you replaced your pillows, we will let you know why it is important to do so regularly. A comfortable pillow is as important as a comfortable mattress and a clean bed sheet, for a good night’s sleep. A pillow is more like that one soft toy/toy that all of us find comfort in and hang on to for as long as we can. The reason? Because it gives us a feeling of comfort.

Pillows need more regular replacing than the mattress, as that is the closest our face comes in contact with various allergens that accumulate over time. Most people do not give much thought to this fact, but pillows are home to innumerable germs, allergens, dust mites, dead skin, oil, etc.

Hence, sleep experts suggest that pillows should be replaced every six months, yes you read it right, every six months! And the maximum it can be stretched to is two years, considering the surroundings are very clean. So it is time to take a look at how long you have been hanging on to your favorite pillow.

A pillow should be purchased as per your sleep position, a pillow that not only supports your head and neck but also helps proper alignment of your spine. A pillow protector will help protect the pillow, keeping the stains, dust mites, allergens and even bed bugs away. Keeping the pillow in a dryer once in a while would help get rid of all the allergens, dust, etc., however, follow the manufacturer’s instructions before doing so.
